Uotinen

Jorma Uotinen, a living legend of Finnish dance - choreographer, dancer and former Ballet Director - will be returning to the Finnish National Ballet to celebrate his 40-year career with a triple bill of his works.
 
Ballet Pathétique is Uotinen's memorable choreography to the Pathetic Symphony of Tchaikovsky. La Diva is a solo work created by Uotinen for himself to music by Verdi and premiered in 1993. Uotinen will take the stage himself in this daring and captivating work.
 
Black Water is a recent work, created in 2009 for Skånes Dansteater, which will be visiting the Finnish National Ballet for the occasion. Received with acclaim in Sweden, the work is set to music by Nightwish arranged for symphony orchestra. Skånes Dansteater is the largest private contemporary dance company in Sweden. It is based at the Malmö Opera.

A gala buffet will be served in the main foyer after the performance on 2 October. We welcome you to enjoy the dinner! Price EUR 35 (food only). Drinks are not included. No reservations. Buffet vouchers are available from the opera ticket office and Lippupiste outlets.
