Eifman Ballet, Russia's most famous modern ballet company, will visit the Finnish National Opera once again in February 2013 after a previous visit two years prior. The highly exalted dance company will perform a piece based on Leo Tolstoy's novel Anna Karenina. Choreographer Boris Eifman's Anna Karenina is charged with psychological energy, with the focus on the love triangle between Anna, her husband Karenin and her lover Vronsky.
Boris Eifman has become world renowned for his interesting experimental approach to dance and daring new renditions of classic works. His ensemble includes dancers who are gifted in acrobatic and theatrical expression, each with a command of Eifman's unique dance idiom. Eifman Ballet performances at the Finnish National Opera are made possible by the Savcor Ballet.
