Military commander Radamès inadvertently betrays his country because of his love for Aida. The lovers are joined in death. This Egyptian story inspired Verdi to write some of his most brilliant music, resulting in one of the finest operas of all time.

A cleaning woman at the popular soup restaurant dreams of waiting on tables, and she finally has the chance to try her wings. What will happen to poor Sofia? Photo Soup is a contemporary dance work for 6 to 9 year old children.

Organ Night and Aria: Transfigured Night

Mezzosoprano Lilli Paasikivi and the Orchestra of the FNO under conductor Ville Matvejeff will be performing programme of Sibelius and Schönberg late on an August night as part of the Organ Night & Aria festival in Espoo.

 

Pyhäniemi 2015: Transfigured Night

In August, the FNO will be giving a guest performance at Sibelius Hall in Lahti as part of the PYHÄNIEMI 2015 arts festival. The concert will feature the Artistic Director of the Opera, mezzosoprano Lilli Paasikivi, appearing with the Orchestra of the FNO.

 

Helsinki Festival: War Requiem

The Rake's Progress

This masterpiece has been slow to return to the FNO, having been previously performed at the FNO almost 60 years ago. This new production will be directed by award-winning Russian director Dmitri Bertman.
